RE-CONNECT

RE-CONNECT is a community project aiming to reduce isolation among older people (65+) who suffer from isolation and/or mobility issues due to their age or disability. The project has been successfully running since April 2018 and is funded by the National Lottery. The project will reach out to isolated elderly people living in Haringey, providing them with a range of activities and programmes of assistance adapted to their needs, through which they can socialise and talk about their situation. A day of activities will be organised every last Tuesday of the month at The Hub and offer free-to-participate activities such as chair-based exercise, yoga, reflexology, lunch. The aim is to get participants to engage into group activities to connect with each other and improve their well-being. Participants will also act as connectors in the community to spot people at risk of isolation and create a network of support.
